| 内容記述 | This study examines the relationship between women's junior college students' lifestyle and their understanding of lifestyle appropriate for young children. A total of 55 freshmen-all members of the Early Childhood Care and Education Department （mean: 18.2±0.6 years）-from a women's junior college participated in this study. A survey was used to assess participants' understanding of lifestyle appropriate for young children （sleep rhythm, viewing times of television and DVD-Video, and frequency of breakfast consumption per week）. Then, participants were assessed on their own lifestyle. The results were as follows. While participants showed an increasing awareness of lifestyle appropriate for young children, the participants themselves showed only an average lifestyle. In relation to hours of sleep and wake time, there was a significant relation between the participants' understanding of lifestyle appropriate for young children and the actual condition of the participants' lifestyle （r=.31， p=.02; r=.25， p=.07）. However, in relation to bedtime, viewing times of television and DVD-Video, and frequency of breakfast consumption per week, there was no significant relation between the participants' understanding of lifestyle appropriate for young children and the actual condition of the participants' lifestyle. These results indicated that the women's junior college students tend to accurately understand lifestyle appropriate for young children regardless of their own lifestyle. On the basis of the results, a measure to teach the lifestyle appropriate for young children to the students can be suggested. | |||||||
